We added a lid because the trash and plastic bags inside would be visible and ruin the living space.
The dovetail joint anti-warping mechanism on the back of the lid doubles as a handle, which I think has enabled us to combine function and design in a simple way.
The small carved legs give it a more sophisticated look.
