If there's one thing I've repeatedly done, it's furniture making. When I started my training, I made some rules. One of them is to draw 10 idea sketches a day. I just thought vaguely. Over the past 15 years, I've made about 10,000 chairs alone. So I made about 500 different kinds. Drawing blueprints takes five times as long. Of the five drawings, only one or two are actually built. That would be 2,500 drawings. To create one drawing, I draw 20 to 25 idea sketches. That comes to roughly 55,000 pieces. 55,000 sheets ÷ 15 years = 3,666 sheets/1 year 3666 sheets ÷ 365 days = 10 sheets/day That's exactly 10 sheets a day. I'm amazed that he never gets bored of doing it. However, the power of repetition is amazing. Now you can create chairs freely. Koma is currently filled with amazing kids who are expected to do great things in their respective fields. I can't wait. What I have been repeating are relevant to manufactured furniture. When I started training, I made several rules. One of them is drawing 10 idea sketches per day. I just feel like doing it. 15 years since then, I have made at least about 10,000 chairs. I have made around 500 kinds of chairs. 5 times of schematic plans are required, in other words, among 5 plans what I really made into productions would be one or less. Then, schematic plans are 2,500 in total. In order to make one schematic plan, I need to draw 20 to 25 idea sketches. Then, idea sketches are roughly 55,000 in total, 55,000 / 15 years = 3,666 per annum 3,666 / 365 = 10 per day It turned out to be 10 idea sketches per day. I would be a bit surprised to realize I have not become tiered of repeating it. Anyway, repeating has extremely strong power. I have become able to make any chairs I would like to make. KOMA is consist of great employees whom I would expect in their own area. I am so excited.
