2年前からデスクが作りたくて、板脚で重厚なイメージのものや、引き出しのサイドチェストが付いたもの、キャスターが付いたものなど、途中まで作ってはやめて、また作ってはを繰り返し悶々とした迷走が続いていました。

 

そこで全部忘れてもう一度、何が作りたいのかを整理してみる。

シンプルだけど実は部品一つ一つのディティールに徹底的にこだわったとにかく上質なもの。

収納スペースは大きければ便利というわけでも整理が出来るわけでもない。

厳選されたお気に入りの物だけが整頓されている小さな引き出しがそっと3杯。

 

そのもの自体も、それを使う行為そのものもシンプルで上質なもの。

 

これでコンセプトが固まった。すぐに製図板へ向かう。

 

１時間で図面を描き終えて早速つくり始める。

 

数日後に完成したデスクは、たった２年でこれが作れたなんて自分でも信じられないくらいの上出来。

 

成長を実感できた嬉しさが、次のチャレンジへの不安を少しだけ消してくれる。

さあ次は何を作ろうか！

そんなふうに意気揚々と思える希有な一瞬がありがたい。

MUSE design awards 2022 Silver winner

I've been wanting to make a desk for two years. I made solid one with board legs, table with drawers and side chest, something with casters and so on, with no results.

So I reset, and think again what I really want to make.
Simple, but highest quality, paying attention to every little detail.It isn't about how large the storage space is, for the usefulness and the easiness of sorting. Three little drawers to store only your treasured things in order. That drawer itself, and using it, are both simple and high quality. This is the concept I was looking for. So I immediately go to my drawing board, draw a sketch in about an hour, and start making the furniture right away. 

The desk that completed in a few days, were so good that I couldn't believe I came up with this in two years. That is how great it was. I'm so happy about the fact that I could feel myself improving, and that removes a little bit of anxiety for my next challenge.
Well, what am I going to make next!
I'm grateful for this rare moment filled with high spirit.
